Disconnect or have arrangements made for a professional to disconnect your major appliances.

 

Have a date set to have utilities disconnected (if possible have utilities available through the day of the move).

 

If you have rugs or draperies cleaned leave them wrapped for the move.

 

Get a written appraisal of antiques and valuables to verify their value.

 

Don’t wax or oil furniture before moving as this may leave the surfaces soft risking furniture pad imprints.

 

If upholstered furniture will be placed in storage don’t clean prior to moving to minimize risk of mold due to moisture.
